For our next meeting on April 26 we would like to do another round of show-and-tells*. If you would like to claim a slot, please put your name in the table at the top of our meeting minutes document. If you are interested but unsure or have any questions, please e-mail Lynn (lynn.derijk at ru.nl) or Hannah (hannah.pelikan at liu.se). Thanks again and see you next time! Best wishes, Hannah, Lynn and Saul --- *Show-and-tell instructions: The idea of the show-and-tell is to briefly share what we are working on through showing some data. Any stage of work is welcome. Just a few things to keep in mind as you are getting ready: 1. Plan to present for 10-15 minutes so that others get to engage and comment on your work. 2. How you present is up to you: a. Some just bring a video snippet and introduce it, leaving some time to play it 2-3 times as in a mini data session. b. Others like to prepare 2-3 slides with some background before presenting the video. This can be especially valuable if you are working on a new technology that people are unlikely to be familiar with and/or if the setting is very complex and needs further explanation. 3. We typically do not distribute transcripts in a show and tell, but you may want to subtitle your video if talk is important (and/or if the language is not English). Some things you could cover in the show-and-tell before showing your clip: a. Introduce your setting and technology broadly. b. Tell us about your analytic focus, what angle are you analysing this data from? c. Introduce the specific clip: who is in it, what are we going to see? --- This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information.
